Is an ultrasound safe? Are there any risks involved?
There have been extensive studies done over 30 years proving that ultrasounds do not cause any harm to a mother or her baby. It has become routine for pregnant woman throughout the United States to receive prenatal ultrasounds. Using 3D/4D scanning is exactly the same type of ultrasound used in conventional 2D scanning. All ultrasounds utilize sound waves to scan and view images, no radiation is involved.
What kind of training do your technologists receive?
My Baby Bump Imaging ultrasound technologists are registered with the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography).
When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?
If you plan to have only one 3D/4D ultrasound examination, we recommend having the ultrasound performed between the 28th and 34th week of the pregnancy. Many mothers obtain more than one 3D/4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from different stages of pregnancy. You can view your baby in 3D/4D as soon as 7 weeks.
Are you able to tell the gender of my baby?
Yes, if you have requested the option to determine the gender of your baby. We will start checking for gender at week 14 or greater. If we are unable to verify gender we invite you to re-visit our facility for a free scan to determine gender.
What is the difference between 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasounds?
2D ultrasounds are the traditional black & white ultrasounds. This is the type of ultrasound that was probably used for your diagnostic ultrasound with your healthcare provider.
3D ultrasounds show your baby as if you were looking at a photograph. You will be able to see the features of your baby’s face and body. The color used for these images is computer enhanced to make the pictures more appealing.
4D ultrasounds uses the same technology as a 3D ultrasound but also with this technology you can see the motion of the baby.
Does this take the place of an ultrasound at my doctor’s office?
No, this elective ultrasound does not substitute a diagnostic ultrasound from your healthcare provider. My Baby Bump Imaging requests that you are receiving care from a healthcare provider and have already undergone a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your provider. Please be aware, at no time is this exam to be used in place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for our ultrasound services.
How long does the ultrasound take?
We have packages ranging from 5-30 minutes.
When will I receive my pictures, CD, and DVD?
Before leaving your appointment you will receive your items listed in the package you’ve selected!
What can I do to improve the images of my ultrasound?
Water! You should be drinking plenty of water before your scheduled appointment. Water can help improve the quality of your ultrasound images.
Is the 3D/4D ultrasound covered by Insurance?
No, insurance does not cover the costs of these elective ultrasounds.
What kind of ultrasound equipment do you use to perform the 3D/4D ultrasounds?
We use the state of the art GE Voluson 730 Pro to complete all ultrasounds. This machine is the best 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound machines available.
How much does it cost?
We have packages for anyone’s budget! We want you to be able to enjoy seeing their baby!

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, & ATM/Debit cards.
Can I bring my own music for my DVD?
Yes, please test your CD to make sure it is compatible to play with a standard CD player.
